Advocacy Towards Prioritizing NCDs and UHC in Ghana’s 2020 Election and Beyond
« BACK TO WHAT WE DO PAGE
Reducing the burden of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) is essential to achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Ghana. NCDs are the leading global health challenge in our 21st century resulting in ill health, economic loss, diminished quality of life, and poor social development in both high and low-resourced countries including Ghana.
Many precious lives have been lost to NCDs mainly due to lack of access and affordable healthcare and out-of-pocket payments.
To ensure that the needs, priorities, and concerns of Ghanaians and especially people living with NCDs are addressed, at the time of need, the Ghana NCD Alliance has deliberately crafted advocacy efforts aimed at targeting major political actors in the lead up to Ghana’s election in 2020 and beyond to include in their manifestos, plans and commitment on how when elected will implement primary health care in achieving the UHC in Ghana with specific reference to NCDs.
The platform will project the Ghana NCD Alliance efforts in the UHC and NCDs efforts and explore the pledges and commitment political parties are making on NCDs ahead of election 2020 and beyond.
The Ghana NCD Alliance is gathering all the manifesto promises and pledges on UHC and NCDs by political actors in Ghana ahead of election 2020.
The platform will serve as a resource center for all NCDs related activities before, during, and after the 2020 election and forholding elected officials accountable.
PEOPLE LIVING WITH NCDs LIVES MATTER.
